Who We Are

Established to serve as the voice of the liquor trade industry in Nepal’s capital, the Kathmandu Liquor Association (LAK) stands as a pillar of support for merchants, distributors, and retailers across the valley. In an industry facing constant regulatory changes, excise duty fluctuations, and market challenges, LAK was born out of a necessity to unite businesses under one roof.

Message From The President

In today's rapidly evolving digital age, any organization or business that fails to keep pace with technology risks falling behind in both competition and service delivery. With this in mind, the Kathmandu Liquor Association is transitioning its traditionally operated activities to a stronger, more transparent digital platform. Our objective is to facilitate seamless information exchange among member businesses, streamline and expedite the membership issuance and renewal process, and widely promote liquor products manufactured across the country using modern technology. To achieve this, the digital app we have developed will serve as a bridge for direct communication between association members, industry entrepreneurs, and stakeholders. It will provide access to membership records, business permits, market information, and product details—all in one centralized place. The liquor industry is a significant source of revenue for Nepal. Its development and the promotion of a responsible trade culture are our shared obligations. We are firmly committed to building a stronger infrastructure in this sector through new technology and transparent systems.
